★Tweak
touch screen sensitivity

to Epic, it really has done its best to make Fornite play nice with touchscreen
controls. While the results are fairly successful, a little tweaking in the
settings menu can make moving and shooting a smidge easier. First off,
experiment with Touch Sensitivity. I find the standard setting of 40 a bit cumbersome,
and ramping the slider up to 60 makes movement and camera control smoother and
more responsive.
If
you plan to go on long-range sniping sprees, it’s also worth fiddling with
Touch Scope Sensitivity. Here, I find the default of 80 to be overly twitchy,
so you may want to settle on around 65-70 to make taming that bolt action
sniper a little less daunting.
★Use a bluetooth
controller
For console
gamers who play Fortnite Mobile while on the go or at a friend’s house,
adjusting to the touch screen controls can be difficult. Even if you do manage
to optimize the layout using the tips above, you will never get the same level
of accuracy that you would with a mouse and keyboard or console controller.
Using a
controller gives a number of advantages over other mobile players, almost to
the point of being unfair. That said, all’s fair in love and war, and you
should take any advantage you can get.
★Choose where to
land and do it close to your crew
If you play as
a couple or in a team, look at the map before jumping to see where others want
to go. Staying together is the key to success. Fly fast and head for the area
where you agreed to land.
When you're
getting to the ground, the glider opens in proportion to the surface underneath
you, so if you fly over a mountain it opens up sooner than if you fly over a
river. It sounds silly, but this trick will help you get to the ground faster.
Choose well
where you land. Don't go in a building where there's already someone inside.
Try to do it directly in a window. If you don't have much skill with the glider
yet, you can always land on the roof. There are no stairs but you can chop the
roof, so you can enter the building and take the materials with you to build.

★Bunker in by
building barricades
Always. Be.
Building. Granted, Fornite’s mantra is a lot less sweary than Alec Baldwin’s
code in Glengarry Glen Ross, but repeatedly constructing walls and fences to
provide protection could just be the difference between ending up as lone
survivor or savagely turning the air blue after another losing performance. To
help your inner architect with their budding builds, keep harvesting wood,
bricks, and metal by smashing up trees, stone buildings and abandoned vehicles
with your pickaxe.
When the map
has been mostly swallowed up by the Storm Eye and there are only 20 or so
players left, playing defensively can work to your advantage. If you’ve been
stockpiling resources throughout a match, you can erect a mighty little
fortress to protect you from enemy bullets.
Just bear in
mind brick and metal structures take considerably longer to build than wooden
ones, though they are far sturdier. Hunkering down in the basement of a
building, then surrounding yourself with stone barricades, may be cowardly, yet
it can be an effective way to ensure your survivor and their yellow belly makes
it to the final stages of a match.
★Choose your
cross-platform teammates wisely
One of the
great things about Fortnite and the lobby system is that in duos or squads, you
can hang out with your friends via “cross-platform crossplay”. Now mobile
players can play with Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Playstation, PC, and Mac friends.
However, it’s
important to keep in mind the way that Fortnite manages cross-platform play.
When in a crossplay party, you’re matched with people in the group with the
best control system you have in your party. This is why teammate selection
makes our list of Fortnite Mobile tips.
That means that
if three people out of four are on a mobile device, and one is on console,
you’ll all play against those with a console. Likewise if even a single member
of your party is playing on PC, you’ll be playing against mouse-and-keyboard
wielding players.

★Loot
everything, not just weapons
Looting is the
key. There are 5 grades of weapons, from normal to legendary. Of course, you
should keep the best ones. You'll be able to recognize them quickly by the
colors. From worse to better: grey, green, blue, purple and yellow. Of course,
other players are the best source of weapons. Remember also that you can shoot
with your left finger.
You usually
find enough ammunition, but it's always good to save just in case. If you have
a knocked out enemy and want to kill him to get their items, shoot with a
weapon that you don't use much so you don't waste ammunition from good weapons.
Always carry a
long-range weapon, as in the last part of the game when everyone is hiding in a
tower a powerful weapon can make all the difference.
★Turn off auto
pick up of weapons
On Fortnite for mobile, the game is automatically set up
to pick up almost any item the character walks over without the player having
to do anything. While this may seem like a no-brainer for our list of Fortnite
Mobile tips at first, it can get annoying over time. Instead of strategically
adding guns and items to your inventory, you might get stuck with a plethora of
weak gray guns (more on weapon classes below).
You can turn auto pick up of weapons off by tapping on
the menu icon located in the top right corner of the game’s home screen and
then selecting the gear icon. Now that you’re in the settings menu, choose the
gear icon at the top of the screen and then scroll down to the bottom of the
list. Here you can toggle off Auto Pick up Weapons.
While you’re in this menu, we also recommend you turn off
the option that automatically opens doors. While this setting might save you
time while entering a building, it can also become an inconvenience. Instead of
hiding from an enemy inside of a room, the game might automatically open a door
and signal them to your location.
