Movie Review - Birds of Prey

The feeling after watching this movie – Birds of Prey ……

The movie Raptor Squad: The Joker Girl Liberation, Birds of Prey, is an American superhero independent movie from 2020. The female lead, Harley Quinn, is derived from the 2016 movie Suicide Squad. Adapted from the DC Comics of the same name (Birds of Prey), directed by Asian director Cathy Yan and lead heroine, Harley Quinn inherited from the previous work is performed by Margot Robbie, she is also the executive producer of the movie.

The Birds of Prey teaser announced that after the joker girl, Harley Quinn broke up with the joker, and them she found herself again. The story narrated that the joker girl exploded the love place with the joker, and used the gorgeous explosion to announce to the public. The breakup immediately led to the hunting of Harley Quinn’s enemies, which was indirectly involved in the diamond reward with a huge wealth code. 

The highlights are the smooth female martial arts screen and the character's personal charm. This movie is also a must-see movie for fans of joker girls. In fact, the character in the previous movie, Suicide Squad, is the only one I like. Compared with last year movie, Joker, it is a good strategy to launch a movie with a “joker” element and a feminine color.

Although the Female Liberation is the main axis, it is not so educative and full of humorous anti-bone atmosphere. The whole screen was gorgeous, and the martial arts movement was smooth and bright. It exceeded my original expectations. It is an eye-catching commercial cool film, which can be said to be entirely for the personal charm of Margot Robbie.

In addition to the female joker (Margot Robbie); the huntress, Helena Bertinelli (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) who has been in the past movie, Gemini Man; the black canary, Dina Roylans (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and the policewoman, Leni (Rosie Pe'rez), they constitute the Birds of Prey. The only one who has super powers is the black canary and the joker girl is shaped into a high IQ, anti-social personality, criminal woman who don’t follow the cards.

The movie, Moulin Rouge! (2001) is hailed as one of the best song and dance movies in history. The classic song line is "Diamond is a woman's best friend." In this movie, Birds of Prey, the diamond is also as an important symbol meaning what does everyone chase.

The story of Birds of Prey is very ordinary. The whole development of the plot is completely in accordance with the standard formula. The charming character's charm is very fascinating and wild and it can make the audience dance with her. In addition, the bright colors with high contrast are more visually enjoyable. 

Perhaps there are still some huge shortcomings that can’t be ignored, but at least it is still successful for laying a solid and beautiful foundation for the future project and also makes people look forward to the development of future sequels, and even the growth of the entire DC expansion universe.
