The International Yoga Festival, Rishikesh is a celebration of Yoga, the age old Indian science of health and wellness. The great sage Patanjali, penned down the science, laid down the minute rules and techniques of the activity. Yoga was primarily developed as a medium to attain harmony of body, mind and soul. Yoga is not just different yogic postures or breathing techniques, it is a way of life. Around the world, Yoga has changed lives with its holistic techniques. International Yoga Festival is a wonderful opportunity to introduce Yoga in one’s life. The week-long event detoxifies and purifies the body, mind and soul.

Events including:

1. Daily Yoga Classes: strengthen your practice with over 70 hours of Yoga classes from world-class Yoga teachers practicing multiple styles including Kundalini Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Power Vinyasa Yoga & Iyengar Yoga starting from 4am and running through to 5pm every day.

2. Inspiring Lectures from Saints and Yogacharyas: be blessed with the presence, satsang and divine words of revered saints and spiritual masters from around the world on a variety of uplifting and inspiring subjects.

3. Special Evening Ganga Aarti Lighting Ceremony: Ganga Aarti transcends the borders and boundaries of language and culture, diving straight into one’s heart, carrying one to Heaven. The Yagna puja allows for devotional offerings to be made into a sacred fire. All on the banks of the Ganges and led by Pujya Swamiji, Sadhvi Abhaji (Mataji) & our Parmarth Rishikumars.

4. Evening Kirtan, Cultural Performances & More: listen, watch, sing & dance along to ecstatic drumming, moving kirtan and beautiful cultural performances that take you through the night until 10pm.

5. Beautiful Ashram Grounds: Parmarth Niketan is a true spiritual haven, lying on the holy banks of Mother Ganga in the lap of the lush Himalayas, with a clean, pure and sacred atmosphere as well as abundant, beautiful gardens.

How can your register for IYF 2020?
Eventbrite is the only way to purchase tickets for International Yoga Festival 2020 held at Parmarth Niketan Ashram. There may also be some tickets to purchase at Parmarth Niketan on each day of the festival, subject to availability. The official correspondence is only through “info@internationalyogafestival.com”.

What is included with your accommodation booking?
Accommodation is provided from 2pm on February 28 until 12pm on March 8. The Ashram will provide you with mattresses, pillows, pillow covers, sheets, blankets, and towels. There is a laundry service available at a minimum fee. They ask that you bring your personal toiletries and in an effort to keep the environment clean, please be mindful that your products be as environmentally sound as possible.

What are your transport options getting to the event?
Parmarth Niketan is closely connected by air, train, and car. The Ashram is a 45 minute taxi ride from Dehradun Airport and 1 hour from Haridwar Junction Station. There are plenty of taxis available at both locations.
We have received the following rates from a local taxi firm based in Rishikesh–meant to serve as a guide:
Haridwar Junction to Parmarth Niketan (or return) - Rs 1200 - small 4 passenger car/Inova - 1600
Dehradun Airport to Parmarth Niketan (or return) - Rs 1200 - small 4 passenger car/Inova - 1600
Delhi to Parmarth Niketan (or return) - Rs 4000 - small 4 passenger car/Inova - 6000
For those who wish to go sightseeing during their stay, here are the rates for a local taxi booking:
Parmarth Niketan to Neelkanth Temple (including return) – Rs 1800
Parmarth Niketan to Kunjapuri Temple (including return) – Rs 1600
Parmarth Niketan to Vashistha Cave (including return) – Rs 1600
Parmarth Niketan to Mussoorie (or return) – Rs 2500

Where can you eat and what are the dietary options?
Dining facilities are set up in the back Yoga Garden for all IYF participants. All food is vegetarian. Vegan options will include dal, rice, salads, vegetables and fruits. Please remember that we sometimes host 1,000 guests or more, and it not possible to have everyone like everything that’s offered at all meal times. It is always safe and advisable to carry non-perishable options, just in case the choices at that time are not palatable.​ There is an adjacent market-place where a variety of choices are available for purchase also. Please note: In respect of the traditions of the ashram, within the ashram the following food/drink are strictly prohibited: drinking intoxicants, eating egg or other non-vegetarian foods. We also recommend that you refrain from eating onions and garlic.
